Dear Colleagues,

I am honoured to have been given the opportunity on behalf of the local organising committee to invite you to the annual North Eastern European Meeting (NEEM). It is a great pleasure to announce that the 4^th NEEM will be held in Riga, Latvia on 10-11th September. 

The meeting’s objectives remain the same since 2007 – to assemble regional urologists for a discussion of actual urological issues in a friendly atmosphere and to offer a platform where young urologists can present their studies and be recognised for their meritorious efforts.  Moreover, NEEM intends to support young urologists by presenting state-of-art lectures given by leading experts and enabling a discussion of significant issues that will help us enhance our skills and practices for the benefit of our patients.

Riga, as one of most dynamic cities in the Baltic region, is not only a gateway but is also the crossroads of various cultures. Cultivating its own distinctive traditions for more than 800 years, Riga offers the ideal venue for international gatherings with its lively cultural life and cosmopolitan character.  Despite news of the economic crisis that has affected many countries, Riga remains a hospitable, energetic city and certainly worthy of a relaxing visit.
